Happy Halloween, part IV

This will be the final installment of this series since I think we are done with this holiday (unless you count the candy the boys are still enjoying ;-).

The boys were excited to check the mail and find a card for each of them from Grandma Lapka and Aunt Judy. They love opening mail and always love when they find a dollar inside the card.
The boys decided to be Superman and Batman. Although the main parts of these costumes were in our costume box (thanks to a teacher who so kindly passed on some of her fun boy things to us), we had to jazz up the rest of the outfit to make it more than just a cape thrown over a t-shirt. I had forgotten that these superheroes wear their underwear on the outside of their pants, but since the boys decided they did not want their undies showing, we compromised with a pair of black shorts and a pair of red shorts. (It was a good thing Caleb had to wear shorts over his pants since the only royal blue sweats we had were a size too big and needed the smaller shorts over them to keep them up.) We managed to find the right colors for the undershirts to finish out the costumes.
The actual halloween day followed our regular tradition for the day--start out trick-or-treating at Aunt Pat and Aunt Nita's house followed by dinner and trick-or-treating with friends for the evening.

And then we finished the night by going through the loot and picking out our favorite candies. It was a fun night for all of us and a great finish to our prolonged recognition of this year's Halloween.
