| Love the Midwest clouds! |
As fun as it was to hang out at the lake, it was just as fun
for us to be on the farm for a few days as well. The boys loved the wide open
space outside and kept busy playing throughout the house (and in the basement).

We played a lot of the washer game even having an evening of
siblings versus siblings. The boys took on Gpa N and and his sister (Paul’s
Aunt Jean) and beat them in a heartbreaking ending since Gpa and Jean went over
the winning score and lost their points. That was a moment to watch—Gpa and
Jean were celebrating their victory while the boys were cheering next to them
because they knew that those points would not count. (Unfortunately, we had not
explained that part of the rules when we first explained the rules to Aunt Jean
who was playing it for the first time.)
After that victory, the boys took on Paul and Brian, and the pair of older brothers won that game.
Uncle Brian got out the .22 and let the boys target shoot at
bottles filled with water.

The boys got a corn lesson from Aunt Whitney.
We got to spend an evening with Norman!
Brian and Paul built a corn hole set one afternoon. They
even let the boys help with the staining of it.
We visited Great Grandpa Nelson one morning. The boys
enjoyed eating popcorn and looking at the koi fish during our visit.
We had a little beef and green pepper cooking time.
And we topped off the evenings with dessert or happy drinks (nonalcoholic for the kiddos).
